Abstract:
(EN) The present invention concerns a method for producing xylitol from lignocellulosic waste using Candida guilliermondii, which aims to overcome the drawbacks of the biotechnological processes currently used to produce xylitol in terms of yield and in a conveniently shorter time, without the need for a detoxification process prior to fermentation. The invention thus describes a method that comprises fermenting a solution of xylose obtained by means of the hydrolysis of corn cobs using the yeast Candida guilliermondii, and decolourising the medium resulting from the fermentation using activated charcoal to obtain xylitol.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé de production de xylitol à partir de résidus lignocelulosiques à l'aide de Candida guilliermondii visant à supprimer les inconvénients présentés par les procédés biotechnologiques de production de xylitol utilisés de nos jours en termes de rendement et dans un temps dûment plus court, sans recours à un procédé de détoxification préalable à la fermentation; ainsi l'invention concerne un procédé qui consiste à faire fermenter une solution de xylose obtenue à partir de l'hydrolyse de rafle de maïs avec une levure Candida guilliermondii et à décolorer le milieu résultant de la fermentation avec du charbon actif pour obtenir du xylitol.
(ES) La presente invención consiste en un proceso de producción de xilitol a partir de residuos lignocelulósicos utilizando Candida guilliermondii que busca suprimir los inconvenientes que presentan los procesos biotecnológicos de producción de xilitol utilizados en la actualidad en términos del rendimiento y en un tiempo convenientemente más corto, sin la necesidad de un proceso de detoxificación previo a la fermentación; así se describe un proceso que comprende fermentar una solución de xilosa obtenida a partir de la hidrólisis de olote de maíz con una levadura Candida guilliermondii y decolorar el medio resultante de la fermentación con carbón activado para obtener xilitol.
