Abstract:
(EN) In an embodiment, a method of manufacture of a melt polycarbonate comprises melt polymerizing a bisphenol and diphenyl carbonate to form phenol and the melt polycarbonate in a polymerization unit; removing an overhead stream comprising the phenol in a gas phase from the polymerization unit; combining the overhead stream with a gas stream comprising a solvent in a gas phase to form a combined gas stream; wherein the combined gas stream has a freezing point at less than 3 mbar absolute that is less than the triple point of phenol; and condensing the combined gas stream in a condenser to form a condensed stream comprising the phenol and the solvent in a liquid phase.
(FR) L'invention concerne, dans un mode de réalisation, un procédé de fabrication d'un polycarbonate fondu qui comprend la polymérisation à l'état fondu d'un bisphénol et de carbonate de diphényle pour former du phénol et le polycarbonate fondu dans une unité de polymérisation ; l'élimination, à partir de l'unité de polymérisation, d'un flux de tête comprenant le phénol dans une phase gazeuse ; la combinaison du flux de tête avec un flux de gaz comprenant un solvant dans une phase gazeuse pour former un flux de gaz combiné, le flux de gaz combiné ayant un point de congélation à moins de 3 mbar absolu qui est inférieur au point triple du phénol ; et la condensation du flux de gaz combiné dans un condenseur pour former un flux condensé comprenant le phénol et le solvant dans une phase liquide.
