Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to the automated determination of the staining quality of an IHC stained biological sample. A plurality of features is extracted from a digital IHC stained tissue image. The features are input into a first classifier configured to identify the extended tissue type of the depicted tissue as a function of the extracted features. An extended tissue type is a tissue type with a defined expression level of the tumor marker. In addition, the extracted features are input into a second classifier configured to identify a contrast level of the depicted tissue as a function of at least some second ones of the extracted features. The contrast level indicates the intensity contrast of pixels of the stained tissue. Then, a staining quality score of the image is computed as a function of the identified extended tissue type and the identified contrast level.
(FR) L'invention concerne la détermination automatisée de la qualité de coloration d'un échantillon biologique coloré par IHC. Une pluralité de caractéristiques sont extraites d'une image de tissu coloré par IHC numérique. Les caractéristiques sont entrées dans un premier classificateur configuré pour identifier le type de tissu étendu du tissu représenté en fonction des caractéristiques extraites. Un type de tissu étendu est un type de tissu avec un niveau d'expression défini du marqueur tumoral. En outre, les caractéristiques extraites sont entrées dans un second classificateur configuré pour identifier un niveau de contraste du tissu représenté en fonction d'au moins certaines des secondes caractéristiques extraites. Le niveau de contraste indique le contraste d'intensité des pixels du tissu coloré. Ensuite, un score de qualité de coloration de l'image est calculé en fonction du type de tissu étendu identifié et du niveau de contraste identifié.
