Abstract:
(EN) Modulator (21) for optical communications, comprising: - at least one input (21s) for an incident optical radiation (108r); - at least one input (21p) for a electric data signal (s(t)) modulating said optical radiation (108r); and - at least one output (21 u) for the aforesaid optical radiation (108t) retransmitted in modulated form by said modulating electric data signal (s(t)), said modulator (21) being a passive modulator and further comprising an incidence surface (23) for said optical radiation (108f) from which departs said retransmitted optical radiation (108t), in which said incidence surface comprises at least a first variable reflecting layer (23b) comprising at least one operating configuration in which it, subjected to a voltage or electric current depending on said electric data signal (s(t)), modulates said incident optical radiation (108r) altering at least one spectrum characteristic (X(f)) thereof, and in which the power of said retransmitted optical radiation (108t) is a function of the power of the incident optical radiation (108r).
(FR) L'invention concerne un modulateur (21) pour des communications optiques, comprenant : - au moins une entrée (21s) pour un rayonnement optique incident (108r) ; - au moins une entrée (21p) pour un signal de données électrique (s(t)) modulant ledit rayonnement optique (108r) ; et - au moins une sortie (21u) pour le rayonnement optique (108t) précité retransmis sous forme modulée par ledit signal de données électrique de modulation (s(t)), ledit modulateur (21) étant un modulateur passif et comprenant en outre une surface d'incidence (23) pour ledit rayonnement optique (108f) de laquelle part ledit rayonnement optique retransmis (108t), dans lequel ladite surface d'incidence comprend au moins une première couche réfléchissante variable (23b) comprenant au moins une configuration de fonctionnement dans laquelle, soumise à une tension ou un courant électrique en fonction dudit signal de données électrique (s(t)), elle module ledit rayonnement optique incident (108r) modifiant au moins une caractéristique spectrale (X(f)) de celui-ci, et dans laquelle la puissance dudit rayonnement optique retransmis (108t) est fonction de la puissance du rayonnement optique incident (108r).
