Abstract

A wave energy extractor such as a wave energy converter (WEC) or wave energy dissipater has a floating body with a channel at the fore or aft end, the channel having a sloping base, side walls, in some embodiments an end wall, and an opening for receiving waves. Resonance effects enhance the energy extracted from the waves and transferred to the floating body. Embodiments include WECs such as hinged raft WECs and heaving buoy WECs. The channels may also be fitted to a floating breakwater.

La présente invention concerne un extracteur de l'énergie des vagues, tel qu'un convertisseur d'énergie des vagues (WEC) ou un dissipateur d'énergie des vagues, comprenant un corps flottant ayant un canal à l'extrémité avant ou arrière, le canal ayant une base en pente, des parois latérales, dans certains modes de réalisation une paroi d'extrémité, et une ouverture pour recevoir des vagues. Des effets de résonance augmentent l'énergie extraite des vagues et transférée au corps flottant.
