The invention relates to a method and apparatus for improving the measurement of the timing of touches of a touch screen. In an embodiment a method of determining a time at which a user touched a touch screen of an electronic device comprises obtaining (101) a touch signal generated by the touch screen for a first time period, the touch signal indicating when the user touched the touch screen during the first time period; obtaining (103) a sensor signal generated by a first sensor for at least the first time period, the sensor signal comprising a first signal component corresponding to a measurement by the first sensor of the user making contact with the touch screen; using (105) the touch signal to identify a time window in the sensor signal containing the first signal component; and processing (107) the windowed sensor signal to determine the timing of the first signal component in the sensor signal.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil qui permettent d'améliorer la mesure de la synchronisation des contacts d'un écran tactile. Selon un mode de réalisation, un procédé de détermination du moment auquel un utilisateur a touché l'écran tactile d'un dispositif électronique consiste à obtenir (101) un signal de contact généré par l'écran tactile pendant une première période, le signal de contact indiquant quand l'utilisateur a touché l'écran tactile pendant la première période; à obtenir (103) un signal de capteur généré par un premier capteur pendant au moins la première période, le signal de capteur comprenant une première composante de signal correspondant à une mesure, par le premier capteur, de l'utilisateur entrant en contact avec l'écran tactile; à utiliser (105) le signal tactile pour identifier un créneau dans le signal de capteur contenant la première composante de signal; à traiter (107) le signal de capteur fenestré afin de déterminer la synchronisation de la première composante de signal dans le signal de capteur.
