Abstract:
(EN) A multi-copter drone (2) has an upper coupler (6) that releasably connects to a lower coupler (8) of a second drone (4). This interconnects the drones to form a stacked combined flying machine (5A) that lifts a heavier load than a single drone. The couplers (6, 8) index a predetermined rotational relationship between the two drones about a common central vertical axis (1 0) that minimizes negative aerodynamic effects of downwash from the upper drone on the lower drone. An embodiment (5A) rotationally offsets the upper (4) and lower (2) drones to minimize overlaps (A1, A2) of the upper and lower propeller disks. The couplers (6, 8) may have electrical connectors that integrate control systems (38, 40) of the connected drones, establish a master/slave control relationship between them, and share battery power between them.
(FR) Un drone multicoptère (2) comporte un coupleur supérieur (6) qui se raccorde amovible à un coupleur inférieur (8) d'un second drone (4). Ceci interconnecte les drones pour former une machine volante combinée empilée (5A) qui soulève une charge plus lourde qu'un seul drone. Les coupleurs (6, 8) indexent une relation de rotation prédéterminée entre les deux drones autour d'un axe vertical central commun (10) qui minimise les effets aérodynamiques négatifs de déflexion du drone supérieur sur le drone inférieur. Un mode de réalisation (5A) décale en rotation les drones supérieur (4) et inférieur (2) pour réduire au minimum les chevauchements (A1, A2) des pales d'hélice supérieures et inférieures.
