Abstract:
(EN) An electrophoretic medium comprises a plurality of charged particles disposed in a fluid. The fluid comprises at least about 75, and preferably at least about 95, per cent by weight of a hydrocarbon selected from monounsaturated nonenes, nonane and methyloctane. The electrophoretic medium is especially useful in microcell electrophoretic media comprising a substrate having a plurality of cavities, and a sealing layer closing the open ends of the cavities, the cavities being filled with the electrophoretic medium.
(FR) L'invention concerne un milieu électrophorétique comprenant une pluralité de particules chargées disposées dans un fluide. Le fluide comprend au moins environ 75, et de préférence au moins environ 95, pour cent massiques d'un hydrocarbure choisi parmi les nonènes mono-insaturés, le nonane et le méthyloctane. Le milieu électrophorétique est particulièrement utile dans des milieux électrophorétiques à microcellules comprenant un substrat ayant une pluralité de cavités, et une couche d'étanchéité fermant les extrémités ouvertes des cavités, les cavités étant remplies avec le milieu électrophorétique.
