Described herein are various antimicrobial articles that have reduced discoloration after the formation of a silver-containing region in a substrate. The improved antimicrobial articles described herein generally include a substrate that comprises a compressive stress layer and a silver-containing region that each extend inward from a surface of the substrate to a specific depth, and has a uniform silver concentration profile across the surface of the substrate, such that the article exhibits little-to-no discoloration. Methods of making and using the articles are also described.

La présente invention concerne divers articles antimicrobiens qui présentent une décoloration réduite après la formation d'une région contenant de l'argent dans un substrat. Les articles antimicrobiens améliorés décrits ci-inclus comprennent d'une manière générale un substrat qui comprend une couche de contrainte de compression et une région contenant de l'argent qui s'étendent chacune vers l'intérieur depuis une surface du substrat vers une profondeur spécifique, et présente un profil de concentration uniforme en argent à travers la surface du substrat, de sorte que l'article fait preuve de peu à pas de décoloration. La présente invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation des articles.
