Abstract:
(EN) A method of delivering light energy to a pathological tissue includes emitting light energy from a first optical element within a cannula, producing a substantially uniform irradiance profile from the light energy within the cannula, transmitting the light energy emitted from the first optical element through a second optical element in thermal contact with a distal end of the cannula to the pathological tissue without ablating the pathological tissue, and conducting thermal energy from the pathological tissue through the second optical element and to the cannula.
(FR) Un procédé d'administration d'énergie lumineuse à un tissu pathologique consiste à émettre de l'énergie lumineuse à partir d'un premier élément optique à l'intérieur d'une canule, à produire un profil d'éclairement sensiblement uniforme à partir de l'énergie lumineuse à l'intérieur de la canule, à transmettre l'énergie lumineuse émise par le premier élément optique à travers un second élément optique en contact thermique avec une extrémité distale de la canule au tissu pathologique sans ablation du tissu pathologique, et à conduire l'énergie thermique à partir du tissu pathologique à travers le second élément optique et vers la canule.
