Abstract:
(EN) According to the present invention, the amount of light irradiated on a wavelength conversion layer is controlled with high accuracy and a liquid crystal display device is easily produced. This liquid crystal display device (1A) is provided with: a backlight unit (10) which emits blue light; a liquid crystal layer (4) which is sandwiched between a first transparent substrate (21) and a second transparent substrate (31), and which is composed of cholesteric liquid crystals; a polarizing plate (2) which converts blue light into circularly polarized light and a retardation plate (3); and a wavelength conversion layer (32) which converts the wavelength of circularly polarized light by means of quantum dots. The twist pitch of the cholesteric liquid crystals at the time when no voltage is applied thereto is equal or substantially equal to the wavelength of the blue light.
(FR) La présente invention permet de commander avec une précision élevée la quantité de lumière émise sur une couche de conversion de longueur d'onde et de produire facilement un dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides. Ce dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides (1A) comprend : une unité de rétroéclairage (10) qui émet une lumière bleue ; une couche de cristaux liquides (4) qui est prise en sandwich entre un premier substrat transparent (21) et un second substrat transparent (31), et qui est composé de cristaux liquides cholestériques ; une plaque de polarisation (2) qui convertit la lumière bleue en une lumière à polarisation circulaire et une plaque de retard (3) ; et une couche de conversion de longueur d'onde (32) qui convertit la longueur d'onde de la lumière à polarisation circulaire au moyen de points quantiques. Le pas de torsion des cristaux liquides cholestériques au moment où aucune tension n'est appliquée sur ces derniers est égal ou sensiblement égal à la longueur d'onde de la lumière bleue.
(JA) 波長変換層への光の照射量を高精度に制御し、かつ、液晶表示装置を簡易に製造する。液晶表示装置(1A)は、青色光を出射するバックライトユニット(10)と、第1透明基板(21)および第2透明基板(31)の間に挟持され、コレステリック液晶からなる液晶層(4)と、青色光を円偏光に変換する偏光板(2)および位相差板(3)と、円偏光の波長を量子ドットにより変換する波長変換層(32)とを備える。電圧が印加されていないときにおけるコレステリック液晶の捩れピッチは、青色光の波長と同一または実質的に同一である。
