Abstract:
(EN) A cleaving mechanism (20) and related method is adapted to cleave an optical fiber (10) and thereby produce a cleaved end on the optical fiber. The cleaving mechanism (20) includes a fixture (40), a cleave tool (60) for cleaving the optical fiber, and a clamp assembly (80). The clamp assembly (80) may hold the optical fiber without substantial twisting of the optical fiber (10). The fixture and/or the clamp assembly (80) may include a pair of leaf springs (92) that contact and bend around the optical fiber (10) to secure the optical fiber (10) in a clamped position.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un mécanisme de clivage (20) et un procédé associé qui sont adaptés pour cliver une fibre optique (10) et produire ainsi une extrémité clivée sur la fibre optique. Le mécanisme de clivage (20) comprend un dispositif de fixation (40), un outil de clivage (60) pour cliver la fibre optique, et un ensemble de serrage (80). L’ensemble de serrage (80) peut maintenir la fibre optique sans torsion substantielle de la fibre optique (10). Le dispositif de fixation et/ou l’ensemble de serrage (80) peuvent comprendre une paire de ressorts à lame (92) qui entrent en contact et se plient autour de la fibre optique (10) pour fixer la fibre optique (10) dans une position serrée.
