(EN) Described examples include a piezoelectric sensor (10) with: (a) a capacitive element (30) including piezoelectric material; (b) a preconditioning circuit (20), including circuitry for establishing a polarization of the capacitive element (30) in a polarizing mode; and (c) signal amplification circuitry (42) for providing a piezoelectric-responsive output signal, in response to charge across the capacitive element (30) in a sensing mode.
