Abstract:
(EN) A set of methods are proposed to increase data security, both in motion and at rest, by creating microshard data fragments. Microshard data fragments are subsets of a data file which are smaller than a defined atomic unit of value (e.g. a fraction of the size of a social security number or valuable password that one seeks to protect). These microshard data fragments are then dispersed across several physical locations, obscuring the value. Additional techniques are proposed to further frustrate unauthorized reassembly attempts and to create system efficiencies.
(FR) L'invention concerne un ensemble de procédés destinés à accroître la sécurité de données, à la fois en mouvement et à l'état stocké, par la création de fragments de données "microshard". Les fragments de données "microshard" sont des sous-ensembles d'un fichier de données qui sont plus petits qu'une unité atomique définie de valeur (p. ex. une fraction de la taille d'un numéro de sécurité sociale ou un mot de passe précieux qu'on cherche à protéger). Ces fragments de données "microshard" sont ensuite dispersés sur plusieurs emplacements physiques, de façon à masquer la valeur.
