1. Basis of the report
a. With regard to the language, the international search was carried out on the basis of:
the international application in the language in which it was filed.
a translation of the international application into                                          which is the language of a translation furnished for the purposes of international search (Rules 12.3(a) and 23.1(b)).
b.
This international search report has been established taking into account the rectification of an obvious mistake authorized by or notified to this Authority under Rule 91 (Rule 43.6bis(a)).
c.
With regard to any nucleotide and/or amino acid sequence disclosed in the international application, the international search was carried out on the basis of a sequence listing:
2. Certain claims were found unsearchable
3. Unity of invention is lacking
This International Searching Authority found multiple inventions in this international application, as follows:
1. claims: 1-9
A knitted component for use in an article of footwear, comprising: a first layer comprising a multi-bed first area having a first surface and an opposite facing second surface; a second layer comprising a second area overlapping the first area, the second area having a first surface and an opposite facing second surface; a plurality of interlayer knit stitches interlooping at least one yarn of the first layer with at least one yarn of the second layer at an interface between the second surfaces of the first and second areas, wherein the interior surfaces of the first area and the second area define at least part of a freely separable area between the first and second areas. This knitted component does not comprise a plurality of interlayer knit stitches between the first and second layers where the first area and second area are coextensive.
2. claims: 10-16
A method of knitting a component, comprising: knitting a portion of a multi-bed first area of a first layer on a plurality of first area needles on a first needle bed and a second needle bed; transferring at least part of the first area from the first needle bed to the second needle bed; knitting a second area of a second layer on a plurality of second area needles on the first needle bed; and forming a plurality of interlayer knit stitches between the first and second layers where the first area and second area are coextensive, wherein the first area needles differ from the second area needles. This method does not provide for a first layer comprising a multi-bed first area having a first surface and an opposite facing second surface; a second layer comprising a second area overlapping the first area, the second area having a first surface and an opposite facing second surface; interlooping of at least one yarn of the first layer with at least one yarn of the second layer at an interface between the second or interior surfaces of the first and second areas, interior surfaces of the first area and the second area defining at least part of a freely separable area between the first and second areas.
3. claims: 17-20
A method of knitting a knitted component, comprising: knitting a multi-bed first area of a first layer; knitting a freely separable second area of a second layer in an overlapping relationship with the first area while knitting the first area; and interlooping at least one yarn of the first layer with at least one yarn of the second layer at an interface between an interior surface of the first area and an interior surface of the second area. This method does not provide for a first layer comprising a multi-bed first area having a first surface and an opposite facing second surface; a second layer comprising a second area overlapping the first area, the second area having a first surface and an opposite facing second surface; a plurality of interlayer knit stitches; or first and second layers where the first area and the second area are coextensive.
1.
As all required additional search fees were timely paid by the applicant, this international search report covers all searchable claims.
2.
As all searchable claims could be searched without effort justifying additional fees, this Authority did not invite payment of additional fees.
3.
As only some of the required additional search fees were timely paid by the applicant, this international search report covers only those claims for which fees were paid, specifically claims Nos.:
4.
No required additional search fees were timely paid by the applicant. Consequently, this international search report is restricted to the invention first mentioned in the claims; it is covered by claims Nos.:
Remark on Protest
The additional search fees were accompanied by the applicant’s protest and, where applicable, the payment of a protest fee.
The additional search fees were accompanied by the applicant’s protest but the applicable protest fee was not paid within the time limit specified in the invitation.
No protest accompanied the payment of additional search fees.
4. Title of the invention
The text is approved as submitted by the applicant.
The text has been established by this Authority to read as follows:
MULTIPLE LAYER KNITTED COMPONENTS HAVING MULTI-BED AREA AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME

5. Abstract
The text is approved as submitted by the applicant.
The text has been established, according to Rule 38.2, by this Authority as it appears in Box No. IV. The applicant may, within one month from the date of mailing of this international search report, submit comments to this Authority.

In one aspect of the disclosure, a knitted component (108, 366) for use in an article (100) of footwear (100) may include a first layer (224) with a multi-bed first area (498) having a first surface (248) and an opposite facing second surface (248). The knitted component (108) may include a second layer (224) with a second area (498) overlapping the first area (498). The second area (498) may have a first surface (248) and an opposite facing second surface (248). The knitted component (108) may include a plurality of interlayer knit stitches (286) interlooping at least one yarn (548) of the first layer (224) with at least one yarn (548) of the second layer (224) at an interface between the second surfaces (248) of the first and second areas. The interior surfaces (410) of the first area (498) and the second area (498) may define at least part of a freely separable area (498) between the first and second areas.

6. Drawings
a.
