(FR) PROCÉDÉ DE SÉPARATION D'URANIUM ET/OU DE THORIUM
Abstract:
(EN) The invention pertains to a method for separating uranium and/or thorium from an aqueous suspension, said method comprising: a) Contacting said suspension with at least a polymer having formula (I), wherein n is an integer which is not 0 and is no more than 50, R1 is H or CH3, R2 is H or a C1-C20-alkyl, R3 and R4 are independently H or a C1-C20-alkyl, X, Y are O or NH, said polymer being soluble in said aqueous suspension, and wherein when R3 and R4 are H, p is an integer which is 1 or more and 10 at the most, and said polymer is a flocculating polymer, and when at least one of R3 and R4 is not H, p is an integer which is 3 or more and 10 at the most, and said polymer is a thermosensitive polymer and has a LCST in said suspension, b) Carrying out at least one of the following steps b1) and b2) b1) If said suspension contains uranium, separating the aggregates resulting from flocculation of said polymer, from said mixture, b2) If said suspension contains thorium, modifying the mixture until the LCST of the polymer in the mixture is reached or exceeded and separating the resulting aggregates from said mixture; and c) Recovering at least one of uranium and/or thorium-free mixture, aggregates bearing uranium and aggregates bearing thorium.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de séparation d'uranium et/ou de thorium d'une suspension aqueuse, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : a) mettre en contact ladite suspension avec au moins un polymère de formule (I), dans laquelle n est un nombre entier différent de 0 et inférieur à 50, R1 est H ou CH3, R2 est H ou un alkyle en C1-C20, R3 et R4 sont indépendamment H ou un alkyle en C1-C20, X, Y sont O ou NH, ledit polymère étant soluble dans ladite suspension aqueuse, et lorsque R3 et R4 sont H, p est un nombre entier qui vaut 1 ou plus et vaut 10 au maximum, et ledit polymère est un polymère floculant, et lorsque au moins l'un de R3 et R4 n'est pas H, p est un nombre entier qui est supérieur ou égal à 3 et 10 au plus, et ledit polymère est un polymère thermosensible et a une LCST dans ladite suspension, b) réaliser au moins l'une des étapes suivantes b1) et b2), b1) si ladite suspension contient de l'uranium, séparer les agrégats résultant de la floculation dudit polymère, à partir dudit mélange, b2) si ladite suspension contient du thorium, modifier le mélange jusqu'à ce que la LCST du polymère dans le mélange soit atteinte ou dépassée et séparer les agrégats résultants dudit mélange ; et c) récupérer au moins un parmi l'uranium et/ou le mélange exempt de thorium, des agrégats portant de l'uranium et des agrégats portant du thorium.
