Abstract:
(EN) Techniques for verifying a magnetic tape are disclosed. The techniques include obtaining a position signal generated by reading a magnetic tape using a stationary tape head. Next, a simulated current for adjusting a position of the tape head to follow a track on the magnetic tape is updated using the position signal. The simulated current is then compared to one or more saturation limits to generate a verification result for a servo pattern on the magnetic tape, wherein the verification result classifies the magnetic tape as usable or unusable. Finally, the verification result is outputted for use in managing subsequent use of the magnetic tape.
(FR) L'invention concerne des techniques de vérification d'une bande magnétique. Les techniques comprennent l'obtention d'un signal de position généré par la lecture d'une bande magnétique à l'aide d'une tête de bande stationnaire. Ensuite, un courant simulé pour ajuster une position de la tête de bande afin de suivre une piste sur la bande magnétique est mis à jour à l'aide du signal de position. Le courant simulé est alors comparé à une ou plusieurs limites de saturation afin de générer un résultat de vérification pour un motif d'asservissement sur la bande magnétique, le résultat de vérification classifie la bande magnétique comme utilisable ou inutilisable. Enfin, le résultat de vérification est délivré en sortie en vue d'une utilisation dans la gestion de l'utilisation ultérieure de la bande magnétique.
