Abstract:
(EN) A method of operating an internal combustion engine having an electrical circuit that includes a connection closed by abutment between two distinct parts, one of which is mounted to a rocker arm of a rocker arm assembly and another that is mounted to a part distinct from the rocker arm. The connection is structured such that the movement of the rocker arm causes relative motion between the surfaces of the distinct parts that close the connection. The relative motion causes the circuit resistance to transition between values within a first range and values within a second range. The transitions of resistance between those ranges are detected and their presence, absence, or timing used for purposes of providing diagnostic feedback or control.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de fonctionnement d'un moteur à combustion interne ayant un circuit électrique qui comprend une connexion fermée par butée entre deux parties distinctes, dont l'une est montée sur un culbuteur d'un ensemble culbuteur et l'autre est montée sur une partie distincte du culbuteur. La connexion est structurée de telle sorte que le mouvement du culbuteur provoque un mouvement relatif entre les surfaces des parties distinctes qui ferment la connexion. Le mouvement relatif provoque la transition de la résistance de circuit entre des valeurs dans une première plage et des valeurs dans une seconde plage. Les transitions de résistance entre ces plages sont détectées et leur présence, absence ou temporisation sont utilisées à des fins de fourniture d'une rétroaction ou d'une commande de diagnostic.
