Provided is a method for evaluating an onset risk of tuberculosis on the basis of genetic information of a subject, said subject being infected with
Mycobacterium tuberculosis
, specifically to each genetic lineage of
M. tuberculosis
. The method comprises: identifying a base at a single nucleotide polymorphic site in the subject's genome relating to the onset of tuberculosis in the subject; typing the genetic lineage of
M. tuberculosis
latently infecting the subject; and then determining the risk of the onset of tuberculosis caused by the latently infecting
M. tuberculosis
in the subject specifically to the genetic lineage of
M. tuberculosis.
