Abstract:
(EN) An additive manufacturing system (101) is capable of extruding poly-fiber strand (114) having a fiber core coated with a polymer with a high range of flexibility in positioning and orienting extruded fibers. Extruded fibers may be laid in a single direction, or may curve or turn to be laid in multiple directions. Structures of devices and components may be created using interconnected extruded strands (214, 216) having interstitial spaces (209) between and around the strands (214, 216). This structure may be infused with resin (222) or polymer using a pressure or vacuum based infusion system. In this manner, durable polymeric objects can be created without requiring expensive molds. Other techniques are also possible, including varying the types of strands used in an object to create areas of the object that will preferentially twist or flex in certain ways or directions, as well as producing objects with zones having different types of resin or no resin.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un système de fabrication additive (101) qui est capable d’extruder un brin de polyfibre (114) ayant une âme de fibre revêtue d’un polymère ayant une plage élevée de flexibilité de positionnement et d’orientation de fibres extrudées. Les fibres extrudées peuvent être disposées dans une seule direction, ou peuvent se courber ou tourner de façon à être disposées dans des directions multiples. Des structures de dispositifs et de composants peuvent être créées au moyen de brins extrudés interconnectés (214, 216) comportant des espaces interstitiels (209) entre et autour des brins (214, 216). Cette structure peut être infusée avec une résine (222) ou un polymère au moyen d’un système d’infusion à base de pression ou de vide. De cette manière, des objets polymères durables peuvent être créés sans nécessiter des moules coûteux.
