Abstract:
(EN) There is described a method of treating cut plant material, in particular a process of exposing cut plant material to a fog comprising sanitised water droplets comprising the steps of: providing a quantity of cut plant material; and exposing the plant material to a fog comprising sanitised water droplets. In the method the droplets impinge on the plant material at a velocity of at least 5 m/s,and the fog is released from one or more apertures, the lowest separation between the one or more apertures and the plant material being less than 3 mm, preferably less than 2 mm.The plant material may be exposed to the fog on its upward- facing side or on its downward-facing side. The method can reduce the extent of dehydration of cut plant material during processing and transportation while at the same time, offering a degree of sanitation of the product. An apparatusfor carrying out the methodis also described.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement de matière végétale coupée, en particulier un procédé d'exposition de matière végétale coupée à un brouillard comprenant des gouttelettes d'eau aseptisées, comprenant les étapes consistant à : fournir une certaine quantité de matière végétale coupée ; et exposer la matière végétale à un brouillard comprenant des gouttelettes d'eau aseptisées. Dans le procédé, les gouttelettes touchent la matière végétale à une vitesse d'au moins 5 m/s, et le brouillard est libéré d'une ou plusieurs ouvertures, la séparation la plus basse entre la ou les ouvertures et la matière végétale étant inférieure à 3 mm, de préférence inférieure à 2 mm. La matière végétale peut être exposée au brouillard sur son côté orienté vers le haut ou son côté orienté vers le bas. Le procédé peut réduire l'étendue de déshydratation de la matière végétale coupée pendant le traitement et le transport tout en offrant un certain degré de désinfection du produit. L'invention concerne également un appareil pour mettre en œuvre le procédé.
