Abstract:
(EN) ABSTRACT The present application relates to boron nitride nanotube (BNNT)-silicate glass composites and to methods of preparing such composites. The methods comprise mixing BNNTs that are coated with a glass former such as boron oxide with a silicate glass precursor to create a mixture; heating the mixture under conditions to obtain a molten silicate glass; and cooling the molten silicate glass under conditions to obtain the BNNT-silicate glass composite. - 31 - 2441970
(FR) La présente invention concerne des composites de verre de silice à base de nanotubes de nitrure de bore (BNNT) et des procédés de préparation de tels composites. Les procédés comprennent le mélange des BNNT qui sont revêtus d'une matière vitrifiable comme de l'oxyde de bore avec un précurseur de verre de silice afin de créer un mélange ; le chauffage du mélange dans des conditions données afin d'obtenir un verre de silice fondu ; et le refroidissement du verre de silice fondu dans des conditions données pour obtenir le composite de verre de silice à bas de BNNT.
