Abstract:
(EN) A system and method is disclosed for calibrating the volume of storage containers using ultrasonic inspection techniques. The exemplary ultrasonic calibration system comprises a plurality of acoustic devices controllably deployed in respective positions on the outside surface of the container. The acoustic devices include a transducer for sending acoustic signals across the internal volume of the container and sensors configured to detect the acoustic signals. The acoustic devices are in communication with a diagnostic computing device that controls the positioning and the operation of the acoustic devices and is further configured to determine the time time-of-flight of acoustic signals that travel between the various acoustic devices. Moreover, according to the specific arrangement of acoustic devices and the measured acoustic signal information, the control computer is configured to calculate the dimensions of the container and its internal volume.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé d’étalonnage du volume de contenants de stockage au moyen de techniques d’inspection ultrasonores. Le système d’étalonnage selon l'invention comprend une pluralité de dispositifs acoustiques déployés de façon commandable dans des positions respectives sur la surface extérieure du contenant. Les dispositifs acoustiques comprennent un transducteur pour envoyer des signaux acoustiques à travers le volume interne du contenant et des capteurs configurés pour détecter les signaux acoustiques. Les dispositifs acoustiques sont en communication avec un dispositif informatique de diagnostic qui commande le positionnement et le fonctionnement des dispositifs acoustiques et est en outre configuré pour déterminer le temps de vol des signaux acosutiques qui se déplacent entre les différents dispositifs acoustiques. Par ailleurs, conformément à l’agencement spécifique des dispositifs acoustiques et aux informations de signal acoustique, l’ordinateur de commande est configuré pour calculer les dimensions du contenant et son volume interne.
