Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to a non-enzymatic colorimetric test strip for detection ofethanol vapour content in a vapour sample and a method of detecting ethanol vapourcontent using the test strip. The test strip comprises a substrate having a sampledetection zone and a control zone; a first dye deposited and immobilized onto a regionwithin the sample detection zone; and a second dye deposited and immobilized onto aregion within the control zone. The first dye in the sample detection zone undergoes acolour change in response to ethanol vapour in the vapour sample that comes intocontact with the first dye on the test strip. The method comprises contacting a vapoursample with the first dye in the sample detection zone of the test strip, capturing animage of the entire test strip and performing image analysis of the captured image todetect the presence of ethanol and determine the concentration of ethanol in thevapour sample.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une bandelette de test colorimétrique non enzymatique permettant la détection de la teneur en vapeur d’éthanol dans un échantillon de vapeur et un procédé de détection de la teneur en vapeur d'éthanol à l'aide de la bandelette de test. La bandelette de test comprend un substrat possédant une zone de détection d'échantillon et une zone témoin ; un premier colorant déposé et immobilisé sur une région à l'intérieur de la zone de détection d'échantillon ; et un second colorant déposé et immobilisé sur une région à l'intérieur de la zone témoin. Le premier colorant dans la zone de détection d'échantillon subit un changement de couleur en réponse à la vapeur d'éthanol dans l'échantillon de vapeur qui vient en contact avec le premier colorant sur la bandelette de test. Le procédé comprend la mise en contact d'un échantillon de vapeur avec le premier colorant dans la zone de détection d'échantillon de la bandelette de test, la capture d'une image de la totalité de la bandelette de test et la réalisation d'une analyse d'image de l'image capturée afin de détecter la présence d'éthanol et de déterminer la concentration d'éthanol dans l'échantillon de vapeur.
