Abstract:
(EN) This application discloses the production of a Bio MicroElectroMechanical System device (BioMEMs) targeted to the promotion of bone regeneration by means of coating a biomedical metallic substrate with a functionalized ferroelectric /piezoelectric biocompatible oxide layer or with a functionalized piezoelectric biocompatible and biodegradable polymeric layer. This technology also relates to a method in which biomedical metallic substrates are coated with biocompatible ferroelectric / piezoelectric LiTa03 (LTO) layers or biocompatible / biodegradable piezoelectric poly L-lactic acid (PLLA) layers electrically functionalized via electrical charging by non-contact high voltage setup (corona poling) or light-activated using ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. 316L-SST substrates coated with functionalized LTO coatings present a higher surface wettability and energy, a higher rate of calcium phosphate formation and a higher adsorption of proteins. No inflammatory reactions were observed for in-vivo implanted 316L-SST substrates coated with functionalized LTO.
(FR) Cette invention concerne la production d'un dispositif de biomicrosystème électromécanique (BioMEMs) visant à favoriser la régénération osseuse par revêtement d'un substrat métallique biomédical à l'aide d'une couche d'oxyde biocompatible ferroélectrique/piézoélectrique fonctionnalisé ou d'une couche polymère piézoélectrique biocompatible et biodégradable fonctionnalisée. Cette technologie concerne également un procédé dans lequel des substrats métalliques biomédicaux sont revêtus de couches de LiTaO3 (LTO) ferroélectrique/piézoélectrique biocompatible ou de couches d'acide poly L-lactique (PLLA) piézoélectrique biocompatible/biodégradable électriquement fonctionnalisé par charge électrique par établissement d'une haute tension sans contact (effet corona) ou activé par la lumière à l'aide d'un rayonnement ultraviolet (UV). Les substrats 316L-SST recouverts de revêtements en LTO fonctionnalisé présentent une mouillabilité et une énergie de surface supérieures, un taux supérieur de formation de phosphate de calcium et une plus grande adsorption des protéines. Aucune réaction inflammatoire n'a été observée pour des substrats 316L-SST implantés in vivo revêtus de LTO fonctionnalisé.
