Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed herein are improvements to processes and equipment for the manufacture of composite nonwoven webs comprising a mixture of two or more different fibers and formed from at least two streams of air-entrained fibers. Adjacent the perimeter of an exit port of one of the fiber streams are located a series of spaced tabs and apertures. As a first stream of air-entrained fibers pass the series of tabs and apertures, vortices are formed therein. When mixed with a second stream of air-entrained fibers, the vortices within the first stream of fibers causes increased mixing of the fibers, helping to drive the first fibers deeper into the second stream of air-entrained fibers.
(FR) L'invention concerne des améliorations apportées à des procédés et à un équipement pour la fabrication de bandes non tissées composites comprenant un mélange d'au moins deux fibres différentes et formées à partir d'au moins deux courants de fibres entraînées par l'air. Une série de languettes et d'ouvertures espacées se trouve au voisinage du périmètre d'un orifice de sortie de l'un des courants de fibres. À mesure qu'un premier courant de fibres entraînées par l'air passe la série de languettes et d'ouvertures, des tourbillons sont formés dans ledit courant. Lorsqu'ils sont mélangés avec un second courant de fibres entraînées par l'air, les tourbillons à l'intérieur du premier courant de fibres provoquent un mélange accru des fibres, ce qui contribue à entraîner les premières fibres plus profondément dans le second courant de fibres entraînées par l'air.
