Abstract:
(EN) Described are high energy light blocking compounds and ophthalmic devices containing the compounds. In particular, described are hydroxyphenyl phenanthroline structures with polymerizable functionality that block high energy light and are visibly transparent. The hydroxyphenyl phenanthroline structures can be incorporated into ophthalmic devices, such as hydrogel contact lenses, to protect eyes from high energy light radiation.
(FR) L'invention concerne des composés de blocage de lumière à haute énergie et des dispositifs ophtalmiques contenant les composés. En particulier, l'invention concerne des structures d’hydroxyphényl-phénanthroline avec une fonctionnalité polymérisable qui bloquent la lumière à haute énergie et qui sont visiblement transparentes. Les structures d'hydroxyphényl-phénanthroline peuvent être incorporées dans des dispositifs ophtalmiques, tels que des lentilles de contact en hydrogel, pour protéger les yeux contre le rayonnement de lumière à haute énergie.
