Abstract:
(EN) Described are high energy light blocking compounds and ophthalmic devices containing the compounds. In particular, described are hydroxybiphenyl benzotriazole structures with polymerizable functionality that block high energy light and are visibly transparent. The hydroxybiphenyl benzotriazole structures can be incorporated into ophthalmic devices, such as hydrogel contact lenses, to protect eyes from high energy light radiation.
(FR) L'invention concerne des composés bloquant la lumière à haute énergie et des dispositifs ophtalmiques contenant ces composés. En particulier, l'invention concerne des structures de benzotriazole hydroxybiphényle ayant une fonctionnalité polymérisable qui bloquent la lumière à haute énergie et qui sont visiblement transparentes. Les structures de benzotriazole hydroxybiphényle peuvent être incorporées dans des dispositifs ophtalmiques, tels que des lentilles de contact en hydrogel afin de protéger les yeux contre les radiations lumineuses à haute énergie.
