Abstract:
(EN) A sensing device is for sensing an operating voltage of a remote device. A communications interface receives communications signals originating from the remote device over a communications bus. A data sampler takes data readings of a communications signal at a predetermined set of timing instants defined by the sensing device. A data metric (such as a duty cycle of high and low states) is obtained from the data readings and from this 5 an operating voltage of the remote device is obtained, based on a relationship between the voltage and the data metric. The invention is based on detecting timing changes which result from voltage changes. In particular, the slope of rising and falling edges of the communications signal are influenced by the voltage level, and this in turn influences the timing of high states (1s) and low states (0s).
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif de détection destiné à détecter une tension de fonctionnement d'un dispositif distant. Une interface de communication reçoit des signaux de communication en provenance du dispositif distant sur un bus de communication. Un échantillonneur de données effectue des lectures de données d'un signal de communication à un ensemble prédéterminé d'instants de cadencement définis par le dispositif de détection. Un indice de mesure de données (tel qu'un rapport cyclique des états haut et bas) est obtenu à partir des lectures de données et une tension de fonctionnement du dispositif distant est obtenue à partir de celui-ci sur la base d'une relation entre la tension et l'indice de mesure de données. L'invention s'appuie sur la détection de changements de cadencement qui résultent de changements de tension. La pente des fronts montants et descendants du signal de communication est notamment influencée par le niveau de tension, ce qui influence à son tour le cadencement des états hauts (1) et des états bas (0).
