This pneumatic tire comprises a resin-coated belt that comprises wire that has been coated with a resin coating and arranged in the tire width direction. A base ring that contacts a tire-width-direction outside end of the resin-coated belt is provided on the tire-radial-direction inside of the resin-coated belt. A tire-width-direction inside end of the base ring is positioned further to the tire-width-direction inside than the tire-width-direction outside end of the resin-coated belt, and a tire-width-direction outside end of the base ring is positioned further to the tire-width-direction outside than the tire-width-direction outside end of the resin-coated belt. In a tire-width-direction region that is from the tire-width-direction inside end of the base ring to the tire-width-direction outside end of the resin-coated belt, the resin-coated belt has a changing-rigidity part that changes rigidity from the tire-width-direction inside toward the tire-width-direction outside.
