Abstract:
(EN) A method for removing carbon dioxide from a gaseous source, the method comprising: (i) contacting said gaseous source with an aqueous solution of a carbon dioxide sorbent that reacts with carbon dioxide to form an aqueous-soluble carbonate or bicarbonate salt of said carbon dioxide sorbent; (ii) contacting the aqueous solution from step (i) with a bis-iminoguanidine carbon dioxide complexing compound, which is different from the carbon dioxide sorbent, to result in precipitation of a carbonate or bicarbonate salt of said carbon dioxide complexing compound and regeneration of the carbon dioxide sorbent; and (iii) removing the precipitated carbonate or bicarbonate salt from the aqueous solution in step (ii) to result in a solid form of said carbonate or bicarbonate salt of the carbon dioxide complexing compound. The method may further include a step (iv) of regenerating the carbon dioxide complexing compound by subjecting the precipitated salt to sufficient heat and/or vacuum.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé d'élimination du dioxyde de carbone d'une source gazeuse, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : (i) la mise en contact de ladite source gazeuse avec une solution aqueuse d'un sorbant de dioxyde de carbone qui réagit avec le dioxyde de carbone pour former un sel de carbonate ou de bicarbonate soluble dans l'eau dudit sorbant de dioxyde de carbone; (ii) la mise en contact de la solution aqueuse de l'étape (i) avec un composé de complexation de dioxyde de carbone de bis-iminoguanidine, qui est différent du sorbant de dioxyde de carbone, pour conduire à la précipitation d'un sel de carbonate ou de bicarbonate dudit composé complexant de dioxyde de carbone et la régénération du sorbant de dioxyde de carbone; et (iii) l'élimination du sel de carbonate ou de bicarbonate précipité de la solution aqueuse dans l'étape (ii) pour conduire à une forme solide dudit sel de carbonate ou de bicarbonate du composé complexant le dioxyde de carbone. Le procédé peut en outre comprendre une étape (iv) de régénération du composé complexant le dioxyde de carbone par soumission du sel précipité à une chaleur et/ou un vide suffisants.
