Abstract:
(EN) A method for reducing timing chain stretch in an engine comprising a step of lubricating said timing chain with a lubricating oil composition that includes a major amount of a base oil; and a minor amount of an additive package including at least one overbased calcium phenate detergent having a total base number of at least 150 mg KOH/g, measured by the method of ASTM D-2896, at least one calcium sulfonate detergent; and at least one magnesium-containing detergent. The lubricating oil composition has a weight ratio of total calcium from the at least one calcium sulfonate detergent to total calcium and magnesium in the lubricating oil composition of from about 0.06 to less than about 0.45.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de réduction de l'allongement de chaîne de distribution dans un moteur comprenant une étape de lubrification de ladite chaîne de distribution avec une composition d'huile lubrifiante qui comprend une quantité majeure d'une huile de base ; et une petite quantité d'un ensemble d'additifs comprenant au moins un détergent de phénate de calcium surbasique ayant un indice de base total d'au moins 150 mg KOH/g, mesuré par le procédé de la norme ASTM d-2896, au moins un détergent de sulfonate de calcium ; et au moins un détergent contenant du magnésium. La composition d'huile lubrifiante a un rapport pondéral de calcium total du ou des détergents de sulfonate de calcium au calcium total et au magnésium dans la composition d'huile lubrifiante d'environ 0,06 à moins d'environ 0,45.
