Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to mutant strains of Clostridium beijerinckii, particularly produced by chemical mutagenesis of the parent strains C. beijerinckii BA101 and NCIMB 8052. Said mutants can produce more butanol, by means of anaerobic fermentation processes, than the parent strain from which same originate, using different substrates as a carbon source. Therefore, the invention also relates to the use of said mutant strains in methods for producing acetone, butanol and ethanol (ABE) by means of fermentation, and to a method for obtaining said mutant strains.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des souches mutantes de Clostridium beijerinckii, en particulier produites par mutagenèse chimique des souches mères C. beijerinckii BA101 et NCIMB 8052. Lesdits mutants sont capables de produire davantage de butanol, au moyen de processus de fermentation anaérobie, que la souche mère de laquelle ils sont issus à l'aide de différents substrats comme source de carbone. Par conséquent, l'invention concerne également l'utilisation desdites souches mutantes dans des procédés de production d'acétone, butanol et éthanol (ABE) par fermentation et un procédé d'obtention desdites souches mutantes.
(ES) La presente invención se refiere a cepas mutantes de Clostridium beijerinckii, particularmente producidas por mutagénesis química de los parentales C. beijerinckii BA101 y NCIMB 8052. Dichos mutantes son capaces de producir más butanol, mediante procesos de fermentación anaeróbica, que la cepa parental de la que proceden utilizando distintos sustratos como fuente de carbono. Por lo tanto, la invención también se refiere al empleo de dichas cepas mutantes en métodos de producción de acetona, butanol y etanol (ABE) por fermentación y a un método de obtención de dichas cepas mutantes.
