Abstract:
(EN) The invention provides for sorghum plants and plant parts developed through tissue culture, gene editing or other methods of mutagenesis in which the plant or plant parts have increased tolerance to one or more acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) herbicides at levels that would normally inhibit the growth of wild-type sorghum plants. In this context, the sorghum plant may be tolerant to any herbicide capable of inhibiting acetyl- CoA carboxylase enzyme activity. The present invention allows for the screening of ACC herbicide tolerant hybrids with markers or application of ACC inhibiting herbicides, and for the removal of unwanted vegetation with application of ACC inhibiting herbicides from seed and grain production fields.
(FR) L'invention concerne des plants de sorgho et des parties de plante obtenues par culture tissulaire, édition de gènes ou autres procédés de mutagenèse dans lesquels la plante ou les parties de plante présentent une tolérance accrue à un ou plusieurs herbicides inhibant l'acétyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) à des niveaux qui inhibent normalement la croissance des plants de sorgho de type sauvage. Dans ce contexte, le plant de sorgho peut être tolérant à un quelconque herbicide capable d'inhiber l'activité enzymatique de l'acétyl-CoA carboxylase. La présente invention permet le criblage d'hybrides tolérants aux herbicides ACC à l'aide de marqueurs ou l'application d'herbicides inhibant l'ACC, ainsi que l'élimination, par application d'herbicides inhibant l'ACC, de la végétation indésirable poussant dans les champs de production de semences et de céréales.
