Abstract:
(EN) Embodiments of an optical fiber cable are provided. The cable includes a cable jacket and at least one buffer tube. Each buffer tube surrounds a plurality of optical fibers. The cable jacket surrounds the at least one buffer tube. Further, a coating of superabsorbent, swellable hot melt is applied to at least one of the following locations: (i) along at least a portion of the length of at least one of the plurality of optical fibers; (ii) along at least a portion of the length of the exterior or interior surface of the at least one buffer tube; or (iii) along at least a portion of the length of the interior surface of the cable jacket. Moreover, the superabsorbent, swellable hot melt is capable of absorbing at least 50 g of water per gram of superabsorbent, swellable hot melt.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des modes de réalisation d’un câble à fibre optique. Le câble comprend une gaine de câble et au moins un tube tampon. Chaque tube tampon entoure une pluralité de fibres optiques. La gaine de câble entoure ledit ou lesdits tubes tampons. En outre, un revêtement d'adhésif fusible super-absorbant capable de gonfler est appliqué à au moins l'un des emplacements suivants : (i) le long d'au moins une partie de la longueur d'au moins une fibre optique de la pluralité de fibres optiques ; (ii) le long d'au moins une partie de la longueur de la surface extérieure ou intérieure dudit ou desdits tubes tampons ; ou (iii) le long d'au moins une partie de la longueur de la surface intérieure de la gaine de câble. De plus, l'adhésif fusible super-absorbant, capable de gonfler est capable d'absorber au moins 50 g d'eau par gramme d'adhésif fusible super-absorbant, capable de gonfler.
