A seated person's orientation stability with respect to input vibration can be improved, and vibration-absorbing characteristics, or impact-absorbing characteristics derived from impacting vibration, are improved over the prior art. This suspension mechanism is structured such that two suspension sections (100, 200), in which a movable support part (140) and a seat support part (240) are supported through respective link mechanisms (110, 210), are disposed in two levels, one above the other, and the suspension mechanism is configured such that when the movable support part (140) and the seat support part (240) move vertically relative to each other in accordance with input vibration, the two link mechanisms (110, 210) supporting these parts rotate in mutually opposite directions. Therefore, the hip point position of a person seated in the seat supported on the seat support part (240) shifts in a nearly vertical path, forward-backward shaking is reduced to less than when one link mechanism is used, seated orientation stabilizes, and the ride is smoother.
