Abstract:
The present invention provides a surgical instrument detection system with which it is possible to determine the type of surgical instrument without applying any special processing on the surgical instrument involving symbols or the like to be scanned optically. This surgical instrument detection system 100 is provided with: an image input unit 31 which receives input of an image captured by a camera 1; an object extraction unit 32 which clips an object image of a small steel article from the inputted image; a determination processing unit 33 which inputs the object image to a model 331 that has gone through classification learning, and determines, on the basis of features included in said object image, the type of the small steel article corresponding to the object image; and an output image generation unit 34 which generates an image representing a determination result provided by the determination processing unit and outputs the generated image to a monitor 2.
