Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical fiber bundle including an end portion having high adhesion strength, and an endoscope using the optical fiber bundle. The purpose of the present invention is also to provide a production method for an optical fiber bundle including an end portion having high adhesion strength. The present invention provides an optical fiber bundle which is a bundle of a plurality of light transmission bodies each including: a primary coated fiber including a core formed of a first glass and a cladding that is formed of a second glass and that covers the outer peripheral surface of the core; and a covering layer which covers the outer peripheral surface of the cladding. The covering layer contains an alkyl group which has 1-7 carbon atoms and which is not substituted with fluorine. The alkyl group is coupled to the cladding through a siloxane bond.
