Abstract:
The present invention is a negative-electrode active substance containing negative-electrode active substance particles, the negative-electrode active substance being characterized in that the negative-electrode active substance particles comprise silicon compound particles containing an oxygen-containing silicon compound, the silicon compound particles comprise a Li compound, and at least a portion of the Si constituting the silicon compound particles is present in the form of a Si2+ - Si3+ oxide not containing Li and/or in the form of a compound containing Li and Si2+ - Si3+. Also provided is a method for manufacturing negative-electrode active substance particles, the method being capable of manufacturing: a negative-electrode active substance which, when used as a negative-electrode active substance in a secondary battery, is capable of increasing the battery capacity and enhancing cycle characteristics and initial charge/discharge characteristics; a mixed negative-electrode active substance material containing this negative-electrode active substance; and negative-electrode active substance particles contained in a negative-electrode active substance such as that described above.
