Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a blade for an electrophotographic device, the blade exhibiting reduced tip property degradation caused by an impregnation treatment; and a method for manufacturing the blade. Provided is a blade 10 having a blade part 12 made of an elastic blade, wherein the substrate of the blade part 12 contains a urethane rubber, a curable composition is impregnated and cured in a portion of the substrate, said portion including a contact portion abutting on a counter member, and the impregnation amount of the curable composition in a region within a range of 0-20 µm from the surface of the substrate toward the inside of the substrate is less than the impregnation amount of the curable composition in a region within a range of more than 20 µm and at most 250 µm from the surface of the substrate toward the inside of the substrate. The blade 10 is manufactured through a removal step in which, after the impregnation step, the impregnation amount of the curable composition in a region within a predetermined range from the surface side of the substrate is reduced to be less than the impregnation amount of the curable composition in a region within a predetermined range from the inner side.
