Title: METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYMER COMPOUND
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of obtaining a thiophene ring-containing polymer compound having a high weight-average molecular weight. Provided is a method for producing a polymer containing a repeat unit represented by formula (1), the method comprising a step for reacting a compound represented by formula (2) and a compound represented by formula (3) in a reaction solvent that contains a palladium catalyst and a base. The reaction solvent contains a first solvent, a second solvent, and water, wherein the first solvent is at least one hydrocarbon and the second solvent is at least one organic solvent that is composed of only at least one carbon atom, at least one hydrogen atom, and at least one oxygen atom. The volume ratio of the water with respect to the sum of the volume of the first solvent, the volume of the second solvent, and the volume of the water is more than 10 volume% and less than 100 volume%. (In formula (1), ArA represents, e.g., a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group, and ArB represents a prescribed divalent aromatic heterocyclic group.) (In formula (2), X1 and X2 each independently represent, e.g., a chlorine atom, and ArA is defined as above.)
