Title: TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING A TYPE-N THERMOCOUPLE
Abstract:
The subject matter of the present invention is a temperature sensor (1) for a motor vehicle engine, comprising: - a thermocouple (2) including two type-N metal wires that are welded together at a first end forming a hot junction for measuring a temperature T1 in the engine, the two metal wires (3) each including a second end that is electrically connected to a voltmeter measuring the voltage between the two second ends; - a printed circuit board (5) comprising an integrated circuit (6), the integrated circuit (6) comprising the voltmeter and a temperature probe measuring a reference temperature T0; - a protective housing (7) comprising a first connector (8) in which the second ends of the two metal wires (3) of the thermocouple (2) are connected to two first ends of two metal tabs (10), the two metal tabs (10) comprising a second end (4) that are electrically linked to the integrated circuit (6), the printed circuit board (5) being housed in the protective housing (7) and the second ends of the metal wires (3) and the integrated circuit (6) being apart. According to the invention, the two metal tabs (10) consist of two different materials that are capable of generating an electromotive force comprised between 4 μV/°C and 25 μV/°C at 20°C.
