Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for computer-supported creating and automatic validating of rules of a variant configuration of a technical product and a system (20) operating according to said method, wherein, according to the method, it is automatically examined whether a regular expression entered as a subset mask (12) for a characteristic value (24) is a subset of a superset defined by a regular expression, wherein a quantity defined by a base mask (10) or by a residual mask (16) is considered as the superset, wherein the quantity defined by the residual mask (16) is a subset of the quantity defined by the base mask (10), and, in the case of a positive outcome of the examination of the characteristic value (24), is transferred, together with the subset mask (12), into a database (30) having characteristic values (24) and subset masks (12).
