Abstract:
In the method according to the invention, dynamic compressive oscillations in the intake tract or the exhaust tract of the internal combustion engine in question are measured during normal operation and a corresponding compressive oscillation signal (DS_S) is produced therefrom. At the same time a crankshaft phase angle signal (KwPw_S) is determined. The compressive oscillation signal is used to determine an actual value (IW_DSC_SF_1...X) of at least one characteristic of at least one chosen signal frequency of the measured compressive oscillations in relation to the crankshaft phase angle signal, and the current trimming of the intake tract (Trm_ET_akt) is determined on the basis of the determined actual value and using reference values (RW_DSC_SF_1...X) of the corresponding characteristic of the same signal frequency for different trimmings of the intake tract.
