Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for removing part of a coating applied to a vehicle wheel (12). In said method, a surface to be decoated on the vehicle wheel (12) is exposed to a machining beam (30) produced by a beam source (34) and exiting from a machining head (40) until at least one part of the coating in the region of the surface is thermally destroyed. Gases and/or suspended particles produced during the thermal destruction are extracted by an extraction unit (32) which has an extraction nozzle (42), a negative pressure produced by a first negative pressure unit (52) being applied to the extraction opening (44) of said nozzle. According to the invention, the negative pressure applied to the extraction opening (44) is temporarily increased by a second negative pressure device (54).
