Abstract:
The present patent relates to a robot assembly for the automatic and continuous application of welds to sugar-cane milling rolls and the corresponding method, which is designed to automatically and safely apply welds (roughcast) to the milling rolls when the mill is in operation, using a coated weld electrode as a consumable, a moveable base (101), an articulated base (2), a reference arm/reference arm guide assembly (103), a robotic welding arm (4) and an automatic electrode feed device (5) that fit in the space available in the mill, and an automatic control system for the welding machine, resulting in higher quality welds with more uniform weight, high adherence, long-lasting welds, continuous maintenance of flange cleaning, greater operational health and safety conditions and lower labor costs for operation and maintenance.
