Abstract:
An LED lamp assembly (100) comprising a glass envelope (110), an LED platform (120) supported by a stem arrangement (130) disposed within the envelope (110), a base (160) hermetically sealed to the envelope (110), a gas disposed within the envelope (110) providing thermal conductivity between the LED platform (120) and the envelope (110), and a getter (700) disposed within the envelope (110) for absorbing volatile organic compounds. The LED lamp (100) may maintain a ratio of helium to oxygen that achieves both an acceptable thermal conductivity and an acceptable lumen output over the life of the LED lamp (100).
