Abstract:
(EN) The present invention consists of the use of polyphenols, such as plant tannins, for protecting latex from natural rubber from the rubber tree Hevea brasiliensis L. against biological degradation, dispensing with the use of ammonia. The protection provides stability during storage and handling and blocks the allergenic proteins that exist in latex, decreasing or eliminating the incidence of allergies to products derived from the protected latex. The existing alternatives for reducing or eliminating said allergenic proteins complicate and/or encumber latex processing and do not completely solve the problem of allergenicity. With the use of polyphenols for treating latex, the present invention provides the production of a natural rubber latex raw material which allows the production of hypoallergenic products for medical use, such as surgical gloves, probes and contraceptives.
(FR) La présente invention consiste en l’utilisation de polyphénols, tels que le tanin végétal, pour protéger le latex de caoutchouc naturel provenant de l’arbre à caoutchouc Hevea brasiliensis L. contre la dégradation biologique, supprimant la nécessité d’utiliser de l’ammoniac. La protection permet d'obtenir une stabilité pour le stockage et la manipulation, bloquant en outre les protéines allergènes présentes dans le latex, et réduisant ou supprimant l’apparition d’allergies aux produits dérivés du latex protégé. Les alternatives existantes pour réduire ou éliminer ces protéines allergènes rendent difficile et/ou coûteux le traitement du latex et n’apportent pas de solution complète au problème de l’allergénicité. Avec l’utilisation de polyphénols dans le traitement du latex, la présente invention rend possible l'obtention d’un produit de latex de caoutchouc naturel permettant la production d'articles à usage médical hypoallergéniques, tels que des gants chirurgicaux, des sondes et des préservatifs contraceptifs.
(PT) A presente invenção consiste na utilização de polifenóis, como o tanino vegetal, para proteger látex de borracha natural provindo da seringueira Hevea brasiliensis L. contra degradação biológica, dispensando o uso de amônia. A proteção proporciona estabilidade para estoque e manuseio e bloqueando as proteínas alergênicas existentes no látex, diminuindo ou eliminando a incidência de alergias aos produtos derivados do látex protegido. Alternativas existentes para reduzir ou eliminar estas proteínas alergênicas dificultam e/ou oneram o processamento do látex e não solucionam o problema da alergenicidade por completo. Com o uso de polifenóis no tratamento de látex, a presente invenção proporciona a obtenção de um insumo de látex de borracha natural que permite produção de produtos de finalidade médica hipoalergênicos, como luvas cirúrgicas, sondas e preservativos contraceptivos.
