Title: DEVICE FOR MEASURING LINEAR DISPLACEMENT
Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of machine tool manufacture and can be used for measuring the displacement of a cutting tool during machining of an article on a lathe. The present device comprises a housing, a support side of which is magnetic and is configured for mounting onto a boring head of a lathe. The other side of the housing is provided with a groove, wherein a magnetic sliding member is disposed on the outer surface of this side for movement along the groove, said sliding member being rigidly connected to a measuring ruler disposed on the inner surface of this side of the housing. Also disposed inside the housing are a fixed sensor for measuring displacement of the measuring ruler, and a microprocessor connected thereto for converting a signal from the sensor and outputting said signal to an external device such as a monitor mounted on the outer surface of the housing. Furthermore, the aforementioned sliding member is connectable to a sliding member of the boring head of the lathe. The invention allows the structure of a measuring device to be simplified and increases the reliability of the measuring device and the ease with which it can be installed or replaced.
