Abstract:
(EN) A method of manufacture of zinc monoglycerolate containing an incorporated modifier, and the product, the zinc monoglycerolate being in the form of agglomerates of crystallites, wherein the crystallite size based on the average coherence domain length is not more than 30nm in the <100> direction, and not more than 60nm in the <011> direction, as determined by the Scherrer equation via powder X-ray diffraction; and the aspect ratio computed by <100>/<011 > coherent domain lengths is less than 0.65, preferably less than 0.56, in particular less than 0.44. Polymers containing this nucleating agent and methods for their production are also described. The zinc monoglycerolate is useful as a nucleating agent, and is very effective at low loading levels in polymers such as polypropylene.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de monoglycérolate de zinc contenant un modificateur incorporé, et le produit, le monoglycérolate de zinc se présentant sous la forme d'agglomérats de cristallites, la taille de cristallite sur la base de la longueur moyenne de domaine de cohérence n'étant pas supérieure à 30 nm dans la direction <100> et pas supérieure à 60 nm dans la direction <011>; telle que déterminée par l'équation de Scherrer par diffraction des rayons X sur poudre ; et le rapport d'aspect calculé par les longueurs de domaine cohérent <100>/<011 > est inférieur à 0,65, de préférence inférieur à 0,56, en particulier inférieur à 0,44. La présente invention concerne également les polymères contenant cet agent de nucléation et leurs procédés de production. Le monoglycérolate de zinc est utile en tant qu'agent de nucléation, et est très efficace à de faibles taux de charge dans les polymères tels que le polypropylène.
